Baton — Terms of Use

Welcome to Baton. Baton helps people bring together calendars, schedules, assignments, and related information to make a workable plan.
Baton is currently in beta, which means things may change, break, or occasionally be wrong. By using Baton, you agree to these basic terms.
Using Baton
You may use Baton for personal and other lawful purposes. Please don't misuse the service, attempt to interfere with it, access another person's account without permission, or use Baton in a way that violates the law.
Baton is intended for use by adults. It is not intended for children to create or manage their own accounts.
Your information
You keep ownership of the information you provide or connect to Baton, including calendar information, names, schedules, notes, and other content.
You give Baton permission to access, process, store, and display that information as needed to provide the service.
If you add information about other people—for example, family members, teammates, drivers, or coworkers—you are responsible for making sure you have an appropriate reason and permission to do so.
Calendars and third-party services
Baton may use information from calendars and other third-party services. Those services can change, become unavailable, or provide incomplete or inaccurate information.
Baton is designed to help you plan, not replace your judgment. You are responsible for confirming important schedules, locations, assignments, travel times, and other details.
Beta service and product review
Baton is provided as is during beta. We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or accurate. We may add, remove, or change features as we develop the product.
Because this is an early beta, the developer may occasionally review calendar events, schedules, settings, and other information in a beta workspace to understand how Baton is working, troubleshoot problems, and improve the product. This access is limited to product development and support purposes. Please do not connect or enter information you would not be comfortable sharing for those purposes.
Feedback
We love feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions, or other feedback about Baton, you agree that we may use them to improve or develop Baton without owing you compensation or ownership rights.
Our stuff
Baton's software, design, branding, and original content belong to Baton and may not be copied, sold, or redistributed without permission.
Ending access
You may stop using Baton at any time. We may suspend or end access if necessary for security, misuse, legal requirements, or operation of the beta.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Baton isn't responsible for losses resulting from reliance on inaccurate or incomplete calendar information, missed events, scheduling conflicts, third-party services, or interruptions to the service.

Baton — Privacy Policy

Baton exists to make complicated calendars easier to manage. We need some information to do that, but we don't want to collect more than we need.
Here's the basic deal.
What Baton may collect
Depending on how you use Baton, we may collect your name and email address; names and information about people you add to your Baton workspace; calendars and calendar events you connect or provide; event details such as dates, times, locations, attendees, assignments, and notes; settings, rules, and decisions you make in Baton; and basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
How we use it
We use this information to provide and operate Baton; combine and organize calendar information; identify scheduling issues; apply the settings and rules you choose; save your plans and preferences; troubleshoot and improve Baton; and keep the service secure.
During the beta, the developer may occasionally view calendar events, schedules, settings, and related workspace information to understand real-world use, investigate issues, and improve the product.
We don't sell your personal information.
Information about children
Parents and other adults may enter information about children when using Baton—for example, a child's name and sports schedule.
Baton is intended for adults and is not designed for children to create or operate their own accounts.
Who can see your information
People with access to your Baton workspace may be able to see information shared within that workspace.
We may also use service providers that help us host, operate, secure, or maintain Baton. They may process information only as needed to provide those services.
We may disclose information if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect Baton, its users, or others.
Connected services
If you connect or provide a calendar or another service to Baton, Baton will access the information necessary to provide the features you request. Those third-party services have their own privacy policies and practices.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Baton, provide your account, maintain security, and meet legal obligations.
During beta, you can contact us at hello@batonplan.com if you want your account or information deleted.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information in Baton. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
Changes
Baton is evolving, and this policy may change with it. If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date.
